Healing times by zone.

Healing is not a deadline — it's a passage. Times below are average ranges for healthy tissue. Listen to your body, follow your piercer's instructions, and never change jewelry before the wound has fully closed at every layer.

EAR

Cartilage and lobe

  • Earlobe 6–8 weeks
  • Helix 6–12 months
  • Forward Helix 6–9 months

Aftercare in three principles.

  1. 01

    Saline, not soap

    Sterile saline (0.9%) sprayed twice daily. No alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or harsh soaps — they damage healing tissue.

  2. 02

    Don't twist, don't sleep on it

    Touching, twisting, or pressure delays healing and invites bumps. Sleep on a clean pillow on the opposite side.

  3. 03

    First jewelry stays in

    The initial piece must remain until the wound is fully healed at every layer. Changing too early restarts the clock or causes rejection.
